Postdoc position available

We are currently looking for a highly motivated postdoc to contribute with her/his strong immunological and cell biology background towards B cell activation and differentiation. The project is absolutely essential to build on our initial discovery with the goal to find and introduce new mechanisms to activate B cells and therefore contributing to the novel field of mechano-immunology in engineering B cells for their fight against diseases and for optimized antibody production. Currently, activation and expansion of B cells are achieved solely with biochemically cues leading to inadequate activation and expansion as well as compromised B cell fitness, and thus one critical factor of therapeutic inefficacy. We will investigate how nanoporous substrates as physical constraints can be used to either activate B cells mechanically without the use of biochemical factors, or to learn how to further boost and fine-tune their cellular and genetic programme.
